Kathy Patten was clinically dead for 45 minutes without a pulse

Kathy Patten, a woman from Maryland, United States, had a heart attack and was clinically dead for a staggering 45 minutes. But in an incredible twist of fate, she was resuscitated just in time to witness her daughter giving birth through an emergency C-section. This remarkable story is a testament to the power of miracles and second chances.

It all began when Kathy received a call while playing golf, notifying her that her daughter, Stacey Fifer, was in labor. As any loving grandmother would, Kathy hurried to the hospital to be by her daughter’s side. However, tragedy struck when Kathy suffered a heart attack upon arrival.

The medical team at Greater Baltimore Medical Center acted swiftly, rushing Kathy to the emergency room. They performed CPR and administered oxygen in a desperate attempt to revive her. For 45 agonizing minutes, Kathy had no pulse, no heart rate, no blood pressure, and no oxygen reaching her brain. She was clinically dead.

She came around just before her grandchild was born

But against all odds, the first miracle occurred. The medical team successfully brought Kathy back to life. Overwhelmed with gratitude, she expressed, “I’m grateful to God for giving me another opportunity. I’ll simply be the greatest person I can be. Coming back is a second shot at life, and it’s terrifying.”

Meanwhile, Stacey was facing her own challenges, as her delivery required an emergency C-section. And just as Kathy was resurrected, baby Alora entered the world. Stacey reflects, “It was just fate that my mom was intended to be here. My mom is here because of Alora, and she happened to be in the right place at the right moment. She is nothing short of a walking miracle.”

Dr. Dov Frankel, one of the dedicated medics who cared for Kathy, was astounded by the series of events. He graciously expressed, “I don’t say welcome, I say thank you. You taught us the meaning of life. You showed us what it meant to never give up.”

Ms Patten has described it as a "miracle" and said she will make the most of her second chance

This story is a powerful reminder that miracles do happen, and second chances are real. Kathy’s journey serves as a beacon of hope, showing us that life is precious and should be treasured.
