Miranda Burns, in hospital with a face mask on

Miranda Burns and Tristan Hall, a young couple in their twenties, were told by doctors that it would be medically impossible for them to conceive naturally. Miranda, 25, had been diagnosed with endometriosis, which had damaged her fallopian tubes. To add to their challenges, Tristan had sperm morphology issues.

But instead of giving up, this couple decided to embark on a journey to have a baby. After six months of dating, they made the bold decision to undergo IVF treatment and document their experience through a podcast called Test Tube Baby.

Now, against all odds, Miranda is 21 weeks pregnant with a little girl, and they couldn’t be more thrilled. Their experience with IVF was an emotional rollercoaster, filled with highs and lows. But through it all, they remained hopeful and amazed by the science behind it.

Miranda shared that during the egg retrieval procedure, the doctors were only able to save four out of the 13 possible eggs. Initially, they felt discouraged, thinking that having so few eggs would dash their chances of having a baby. But to their surprise, three of those eggs turned into high-quality embryos. And now, their little miracle girl is growing inside Miranda’s womb.

The couple acknowledges how fortunate they are to have defied the odds. The average IVF success rate is only 23 percent, making their journey even more remarkable. Miranda and Tristan count their lucky stars every day and cherish this precious time with their growing bump.

Despite their excitement, Miranda still carries some worries and fears from a previous miscarriage. Having experienced loss before, she knows that a positive pregnancy test is not a guarantee of a successful pregnancy. But she remains optimistic and seeks comfort from the support of other women who have gone through similar experiences.

If you are facing fertility issues or considering IVF, Miranda offers some advice: surround yourself with people who understand and have gone through similar experiences. She found solace in connecting with other women on social media who provided support and understanding. And she encourages others to share their own stories, as it can be a source of comfort and a way to give back.
