It was a day filled with surprises when Becki-Jo Allen, 23, learned she was expecting triplets. Giving birth to three sons is not an everyday occurrence, making it all the more special. The news brought immense joy to the Allen family, especially their daughter Indiana, as they eagerly anticipated the arrival of her three younger brothers. Identical triplets are incredibly rare, with only a one in 200 million chance of occurrence. The Allen family feels incredibly blessed by this extraordinary addition.
Becki-Jo and her husband, already parents to two children, had been considering expanding their family. Little did they know that their wish would be granted threefold. During a routine ultrasound, the couple received the incredible news – they were expecting not one, but three babies!
The ultrasound was performed earlier than planned due to Becki-Jo’s headaches. And it was during this surprising scan that the couple learned about their triple blessing. The excitement they felt was immeasurable.
“The delivery of three babies via cesarean section during my wife’s 31st week of pregnancy was the most exhilarating and terrifying experience of my life. We never imagined having triplets in our family,” Becki-Jo’s husband shared, reflecting on that extraordinary day.
Each weighing around three pounds and five ounces, the three baby boys, named Rohan, Roman, and Rocco, required critical care for the first six weeks of their lives. But their resilience shone through, and they gradually grew stronger until they were able to go home. The boys are undeniably adorable and captivate the hearts of everyone they meet.
“We’re amazed at how well our boys have progressed. After just six weeks, they were deemed healthy enough to join us at home, their weight increasing rapidly,” the joyful parents exclaimed. Visitors couldn’t help but remark on the remarkable resemblance shared by the brothers.
Further confirmation of their striking similarity came with the results of a personal DNA test, revealing their nearly identical genetic makeup. The bond shared by these triplets goes beyond their physical appearance.
In the wild, triplets are rare because it’s challenging for an egg to divide into two and then for one of those divided eggs to divide again in the first ten days of pregnancy. In 2021, only four sets of identical triplets were born in the US, making this a truly exceptional and unique occurrence.
Although the three boys bear a remarkable resemblance, Becki-Jo easily distinguishes between them. She can only draw comparisons when they are peacefully sleeping. Each young man possesses a black birthmark between their brows and a distinct personality. With approximately 130 diapers and five packs of wipes in use each week, their parents are always on their toes.
Indiana, the doting sister, couldn’t be prouder or more loving towards her three younger brothers. Despite the challenges that come with having three young siblings, she wouldn’t have it any other way. Indiana firmly believes that they will always stand by one another and provide unwavering support.
