There are few things more important in life than the safety and security of ourselves and our loved ones. It should go without saying that the majority of us want to avoid danger wherever possible, and most of all in our own homes. For as long as humans have been civilized, our homes have provided us with an added sense of security.

But unfortunately, there are criminals out there who are constantly trying to find ways to invade our homes and jeopardize our safety. The thought of a stranger gaining access to our personal space, snooping around, and taking what they please is truly terrifying.

One tactic employed by some criminals is to prey on unsuspecting homeowners. They may knock on our doors and pretend to be someone in need of help or use other tactics to gain entry. In a world where trust is important but can be easily taken advantage of, it is crucial to be aware of these dangers.

Stay One Step Ahead

Security at home is something that many people take seriously. Some have guard dogs that serve as both a warning and a defensive system. Others invest in security cameras to deter criminals or capture any suspicious activities.

However, criminals are always trying to stay one step ahead of us. They continuously find new ways to bypass the preventative measures we put in place to protect ourselves and our homes.

The Alarming Experience of Kim Fleming Cernigliaro

A few years ago, a Texas woman named Kim Fleming Cernigliaro experienced a terrifying incident at her home. She shared her story on Facebook, along with a sinister warning that everyone should remember. Her post should serve as a wake-up call for all of us.

Kim described what happened: “Two weeks ago, during the day, a hard knock was at my front door, not a regular knock but almost pounding. I honestly thought something may have happened to someone and they needed help. But something didn’t feel right…and I DO NOT answer the door when I am here by myself. So don’t bother!”

After several knocks, the person finally left. Kim went outside about 30 minutes later to check for a brochure, but instead, she found a rubber band around her doorknob, intended to hold the door open when she unlocked it. Alarmed, she called someone for support and was advised to stay vigilant.

According to reports, Kim narrowly escaped becoming a victim of a technique used by criminals to gain entry to people’s homes. She immediately contacted the local sheriff, who informed her that this was becoming a trend in the area.

Kim concluded her post with a stern warning: “As soon as you unlatch the door, they do not wait for you to turn the knob, they can bust in on you. Anyway, just be careful. I USED to be such a trusting person, but not at all anymore!”

Protecting Ourselves and Our Homes
