Bode Miller Urges Parents To ‘Test Your CO Detectors’ After His Children Are Hospitalized

Former Olympic skier Bode Miller, along with his wife Morgan Miller, recently went through another health scare with their children. In a post on his Instagram account, Bode revealed that all five of their children fell ill after a crane was parked in their driveway for several hours. While the kids were kept indoors for safety, one of their 3-year-old twin boys, Asher, was hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

This frightening incident prompted Bode Miller to raise awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide and remind parents to check their CO detectors. Carbon monoxide poisoning is the second most common cause of non-medicinal poisonings death, according to the CDC.

Although Bode’s post has been deleted, Morgan Miller shared an update about their children’s condition. She posted a video showing the couple comforting their three kids, who were in hospital beds with oxygen masks. Morgan explained that their kids were exposed to carbon monoxide when they innocently stood on the front step of their house to watch the crane, which resulted in a lack of airflow in the driveway. Thankfully, after receiving high-flow oxygen for over four hours, the children are now doing well. Morgan expressed her gratitude that they avoided another crisis and asked for a break for her heart.

This incident adds to the challenges that the Miller family has faced in recent years. In 2018, they tragically lost their 19-month-old daughter, Emeline (Emmy), in a drowning accident. The Miller family has been devastated by this loss. More recently, their son Asher was rushed to the hospital after a febrile seizure, but thankfully, they were able to bring him home safely.

As parents, it’s crucial for all of us to be aware of potential dangers and take necessary precautions. Bode Miller’s reminder to test CO detectors serves as a wake-up call for parents to ensure the safety of their families. Let’s learn from their experience and take proactive steps to protect ourselves and our loved ones.
