Kevin Sorbo Says Hollywood Men Aren’t ‘Manly’ And Pays A Heavy Price

Hollywood has gone through significant changes over the years, and many of us have wondered why. It turns out we’re not the only ones asking these questions. Kevin Sorbo, the 65-year-old actor famous for his role as Hercules in the 1995 movie, has spoken out about a transformation he believes is happening in the American film industry.

In an article titled “Let’s Make Hollywood Manly Again,” Sorbo expressed his concern about what he calls an anti-man campaign that has been taking place in Hollywood for the past two decades. He believes that bold, confident, and self-assured females are increasingly overshadowing passive men, pushing them into the background and labeling them as useless.

While some argue that recent superhero movies have showcased plenty of manly characters, Sorbo sees things differently. He feels that today’s society has misunderstood the true essence of masculinity. He yearns for the portrayal of men on screen that our sons can look up to and our daughters would want to date.

However, Sorbo acknowledges the contradiction within society’s expectations. “On the one hand, we love to normalize androgynous, Billy Porter-type men who sport skirts and poofy dresses,” he says. He also takes a swipe at actor Timothée Chalamet, who is considered best-dressed by British GQ, criticizing his fashion choices as something our grandfathers would never have worn and launching into a trans-phobic rant.

Sorbo also claims that men are facing a problem of dissipation due to vices like alcohol, drugs, video games, pornography, and other forms of entertainment. While he doesn’t provide concrete evidence to support his claims, he believes that men today need to step up as warriors, protectors, responsible fathers, and self-sacrificing individuals.

In Sorbo’s view, Hollywood should be providing positive role models for boys to emulate. However, not everyone agrees with his perspective. Many people find his statements over the top and out of touch with the realities of the modern world.

This controversy surrounding the changing landscape of masculinity in Hollywood is bound to spark debate. It will undoubtedly be interesting to see where this conversation leads us.
