Rose McGowan

Rose McGowan, the outspoken Hollywood actress, recently took to Twitter to voice her criticism of media mogul Oprah Winfrey. McGowan’s message quickly went viral, generating thousands of shares and comments from both her supporters and Oprah’s fans. McGowan openly called out Oprah for her previous association with notorious Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, whom McGowan accused of grotesquely sexually assaulting her.

This social media post ignited fierce debate, especially among those who had previously held Oprah in high esteem. McGowan’s revelation exposed a side of Oprah that many Americans had never seen before. The article unveiled McGowan’s true feelings about Oprah and her use of the influence she had accumulated over the years.

In her tweet, McGowan wrote, “I’m glad she’s witnessing more and more of Oprah’s horrible truth. She’s not real, but I wish she was. She’s about supporting a corrupt power structure for her own benefit, from befriending Weinstein to abandoning and destroying Russell Simmons’ victims. She is completely fake. #lizard.”

McGowan’s involvement in the #MeToo documentary produced by Russell Simmons shed further light on Oprah’s actions. When Oprah stepped down as executive producer of the film, she stated, “More work needs to be done on the film to clarify the full extent of what the victims endured, and it became clear that the filmmakers and I were not united in that creative vision.”

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Oprah expressed her belief in and support for women, stating that their stories deserve to be heard and told. However, it is unfortunate that Oprah had past interactions with Weinstein. In 2013, she starred in the film The Butler, which was distributed by the Weinstein Company. After actresses began coming forward as Weinstein’s victims, Oprah admitted to being “friendly with Harvey” but claimed she had no knowledge of his predatory behavior towards women.

According to Oprah, “Everybody has a story, so I believe this is a turning point. We’re going to miss this opportunity if we only make it about Harvey Weinstein.”

Weinstein has since been convicted and is serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape and sexual abuse. He will also face additional charges in Los Angeles.

Interestingly, McGowan’s involvement in the drama surrounding Gavin Newsom’s California recall election has added another layer of complexity to the situation. Some conservative sources on Twitter claim that Newsom’s wife reached out to McGowan, asking her to stay silent. This unexpected twist further underscores the significance of transparency, accountability, and supporting victims of abuse.

McGowan’s courageous decision to speak out against powerful figures, coupled with the ongoing controversy surrounding Oprah and Weinstein, highlights the importance of seeking justice and truth. The debate sparked by McGowan’s tweet serves as a reminder that no one should be above scrutiny, regardless of their status.
