Aerosmith’s Farewell Tour hit a roadblock this week when Steven Tyler had to cancel six of their tour dates. The rock band announced that Tyler, their lead singer, has severe damage to his vocal cords and has been advised by doctors to stop singing for the next 30 days. This news has disappointed the thousands of fans who were eagerly anticipating seeing Tyler on stage.

In an Instagram post, Tyler expressed his disappointment and heartbreak over the situation. He revealed that he sustained vocal cord damage during a recent show, which led to bleeding. As a result, the tour dates in Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, Raleigh, and Washington D.C. have all been postponed until early 2024.

The band assured fans that all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Those unable to attend will have the option for refunds, and they can reach out to their point of purchase for more information.

The “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour” was an eagerly anticipated event, with 40 dates scheduled between September 2 and January 26. However, the postponements mean that the tour will now conclude at a later date, starting again on Monday, October 11.

It’s impressive that Aerosmith is giving their devoted fans one final tour, despite the advanced age of its members. Tyler turned 75 in March, and one can only imagine the toll a 40-show tour would take on his body.

However, Tyler’s willingness to go the extra mile is not surprising considering his selfless character. In 2019, he played a significant role in establishing “Janie’s House,” a home for abused and neglected girls. He even donated $500,000 toward the renovation of an 82-acre building near Memphis. The house, named after Aerosmith’s hit song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” aims to provide a safe space for women in need.

Let’s hope our beloved Steven Tyler can get back on his feet and return to doing what he does best – rocking the stage.
