Taylor Swift Donates $100k to Chiefs Parade Shooting Victim's Family

In a heartwarming act of kindness, pop singer Taylor Swift has donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who tragically lost her life in a shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade. Swift’s generosity was revealed when she contributed $50,000 to the GoFundMe page created for the family, surpassing the initial goal of $75,000. Moved by the cause, she made another donation of the same amount just eight minutes later. Over 1,300 people had already contributed to the fund.

In a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, Swift expressed her deepest sympathies and condolences to the grieving family. “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” she wrote.

Taylor Swift Comes to the Aid of Shooting Victim’s Family, Even From Across the World

While Swift’s donations occurred in the early hours of Friday in the United States, she was actually in Melbourne, Australia, at the time. Currently in the middle of her tour, she had traveled halfway around the world to perform in Australia after attending the Super Bowl. Despite the time difference and her busy schedule, Swift made sure to extend her support to the Lopez-Galvan family.

The tragic shooting took place on Wednesday during the chaos of the victory parade. Lopez-Galvan, a wedding DJ and co-host of a Latin music program, lost her life when she was struck by a gunshot in her abdomen. Initially, it was reported that she passed away after undergoing surgery, but subsequent reports clarified that she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The shooting left a total of 23 people injured, making Lopez-Galvan the only fatality. Authorities announced on Thursday that two minors have been apprehended in connection with the multiple shootings. Fortunately, Lopez-Galvan’s son, Marc Lopez-Galvan, who was also injured, has been discharged from the hospital. Two other distant relatives were also injured, but the victim’s teenage daughter, Adriana, miraculously escaped unharmed.

It is worth noting that Taylor Swift has a special connection with the Kansas City Chiefs, as she has often been seen attending their games. She was also present at the Super Bowl to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, taking time out of her busy schedule that included trips to Tokyo and Melbourne.

In times of tragedy, acts of kindness like Taylor Swift’s remind us of the power of compassion and how it can bring comfort to those who are grieving.
