Can you imagine being a zookeeper and suddenly finding yourself face to face with a powerful silverback gorilla? That’s exactly what happened at the Fort Worth Zoo, and it serves as a reminder of how important it is to stay cautious at all times.

In a recently captured video, a zookeeper can be seen running for her life as she realized that Elmo, the 34-year-old silverback gorilla, had somehow escaped from his enclosure. Realizing the danger she was in, she desperately tried to outrun Elmo, but of course, it was impossible.

In an attempt to distract the gorilla, the quick-thinking zookeeper threw a bucket of apples, hoping to buy herself some time. She then found shelter and contacted her colleagues for guidance on what to do next. The tension in the air was palpable, but she managed to keep Elmo’s attention away from her for a while.

Entering the gorilla enclosure without knowing if it was safe or not was a mistake, but the zookeeper’s ability to think on her feet and handle the situation as safely as possible is commendable. It’s a reminder for all of us to always be cautious and prepared for the unexpected.
