As a parent, you need to possess many skills. Patience, teaching, mentoring, listening, leadership, and being a role model are just a few. It’s a tough job that lasts a lifetime. So, when two parents sat down with their adult daughter to meet her fiance, they were both excited and nervous to see what he was all about.

But here’s the twist – the parents and daughter in this scenario are actors on the hidden camera show “What Would You Do?” They have a secret mission to see how people around them will respond when the parents criticize the young man because of his race.

Let me tell you, racism is sadly still alive and well in America. As someone in a mixed-race marriage myself, I have encountered it firsthand in various public encounters across the country. People tend to notice mixed-race couples. Some challenge our decision to marry, while others congratulate us for breaking racial barriers. Either way, we get noticed. And in this episode of “What Would You Do?”, the couple is facing criticism, but it comes from a much more personal source – the daughter’s own racist parents.

At first, Madison’s parents appear excited to meet their daughter’s fiance. They agree to meet in a restaurant, and despite him being a little late, Madison is thrilled to introduce him to her family. Unfortunately, her parents are taken aback and disappointed when they see that the man walking into the restaurant is Asian, not white.

Just because Eric looks different from their daughter, Madison’s parents become furious. They are unhappy with Madison for accepting a proposal from a non-white man. You would hope that this type of behavior would no longer exist in the 21st century, but sadly, it does. However, the reality is often not as obvious as what you’ll see in this show.

Other customers at the restaurant cannot ignore the terrible and insensitive remarks made by Madison’s parents. But that’s part of the show – people are meant to overhear these hurtful conversations. The producers want to see if everyday people will stand up to the racist parents and support the love between the Asian man and the Caucasian woman. And they do. Whenever possible, fellow customers encourage Madison and Eric to pursue their love, despite her parents’ disapproval.

In the video, you’ll witness everyday people like yourself standing up for love. They refuse to let the outdated views of the parents destroy the love between these two young adults. It doesn’t matter that he is Asian and she is white – they are in love.

So, what do you think about this clip? Would you have spoken up if you overheard this conversation?
