I want to share a story with you about a famous child actor whose life has taken a turn for the worse. You might remember Shaun Weiss from his role as the star goalie named Goldberg in the hit movie, The Mighty Ducks. But now, at 40-years-old, he is a far cry from the bright-eyed boy we all knew. It’s heartbreaking to see how drug abuse has taken its toll on him.

Recently, Weiss checked himself into a drug-abuse treatment center, but just months later, he was arrested for shoplifting. The police apprehended him for stealing from a drug store in Los Angeles. It’s hard to believe that this is the same person we grew up watching on the big screen.

These days, the effects of his drug abuse are unmistakable. He appears much older than his actual age and has resorted to theft to sustain his addiction. According to TMZ, he stole around $200 worth of items from the drugstore. As a result, he is now facing charges of petty theft and violating probation.

Weiss had such a promising future in Hollywood as a child actor, but sadly, his life has taken a sharp decline. Over the years, his drug abuse has spiraled out of control, leading him to commit acts of theft and putting himself on a dangerous path.

In August 2018, Weiss was arrested for public intoxication. It was clear that he needed help, so he voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility to get clean. However, his recent shoplifting incident and previous arrests for theft and drug possession demonstrate that he still struggles to overcome his addiction.

Back in July 2017, Weiss was caught shoplifting approximately $150 worth of items from an electronics store. He pleaded guilty to this crime and ended up spending 150 days in jail. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of a downward spiral that will be challenging for him to escape.

After that incident, his manager expressed hope that Weiss would turn his life around and never repeat such actions again. He even mentioned that Weiss wanted to write a script based on his experiences to inspire others.

However, the road to recovery has been far from smooth for Weiss. He served only two weeks of his 150-day sentence before being released, and just five days later, he was arrested again, this time on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine. He was also spotted behaving erratically near the Warner Bros. studios.

To make matters worse, in 2013, an ex-girlfriend filed a restraining order against Weiss, alleging that he had become violent towards her. She claimed he threatened her with a machete, even urinating on her while holding the weapon and demeaning her worth.

It’s disheartening to witness how drugs have ruined the life of this once-promising child actor. The challenges he faces in overcoming addiction and rebuilding his life are immense. Let’s hope that Shaun Weiss finds the support and strength he needs to break free from the destructive grip of drugs and create a better future for himself.
