Before modern technology took over, people relied on a fascinating agricultural tool called a scythe. It was used to mow grass or harvest crops. Imagine the hard work it took to manually cut down and gather edible grains before the process of threshing!

Although horse-drawn and tractor machinery have largely replaced the scythe, it still finds its use in some parts of Europe and Asia. To make things even easier, reapers were invented. These are bladed machines that automate the cutting process of the scythe, and sometimes even the subsequent steps of preparing the grain, straw, or hay.

Isn’t it incredible how our ancestors found ingenious ways to work the land? Let’s appreciate their hard work and legacy!
