Sean “Diddy” Combs recently spoke out about a surveillance video that resurfaced, showing him attacking his former girlfriend, Cassie. The video was posted by CNN and drew attention to the incident that occurred years ago.
Despite the video surfacing, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced that they could not file charges due to the statute of limitations in California.
In response to the video, Combs took to Instagram to address his past actions. He expressed remorse and took full responsibility for his behavior, acknowledging that it was inexcusable. Combs shared that he sought professional help, including therapy and rehabilitation, to address his behavior. He emphasized his commitment to becoming a better man every day and expressed his sincere apologies, although he did not mention Cassie by name.
The surveillance video shows Combs engaging in physical aggression towards Cassie, grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking her. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office condemned the behavior, describing the footage as extremely disturbing.
Cassie had previously mentioned the incident in a lawsuit she filed against Combs in November 2023. In the lawsuit, she alleged that Combs assaulted her at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City in March 2016. Cassie claimed that he threw glass vases at her, causing her to run to the elevator to escape. She also alleged that Combs paid the hotel $50,000 for the security footage of the incident.
While the legal case was settled shortly after, Combs still faces other civil lawsuits related to allegations of sexual assault and trafficking. He has denied all the allegations against him.
In a separate incident, federal agents executed search warrants at Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami. These searches are part of an ongoing investigation, following allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Combs’ lawyer spoke out, criticizing the use of excessive force during the searches and asserting Combs’ innocence.
As the legal proceedings continue, Combs remains determined to clear his name and defend himself against the allegations.
