Three 12-year-old girls recently appeared in court to recount a horrifying incident that left them traumatized. Last summer, during a sleepover at the house of their friend’s father, Michael Meyden, the girls were unknowingly drugged with smoothies containing drugs.

This week, just moments before Meyden was sentenced to two years in prison, the young girls bravely faced him, describing the ordeal as an abuse of trust that made their lives a living hell.

The girls revealed that Meyden had been overly involved in the sleepover, constantly checking on them throughout the evening. Between 9-11pm, he brought them mango smoothies that had peculiar white chunks floating in them. Meyden insisted that they drink the smoothies, even making a second batch when one of the girls expressed dislike for the taste. Little did they know that they were being drugged.

One of the girls, who secretly didn’t finish her drink, witnessed Meyden entering the room and performing strange “tests” on them to see if they were asleep. Frightened, she quickly alerted her parents via text message, seeking help. The parents of the other sleepover attendees were also concerned and went to Meyden’s home to retrieve their daughters, who were instantly taken to the hospital for assessment.

Meyden turned himself in to the police in February, and it was revealed that he was responsible for the drugs detected in the girls’ bloodstreams. He faced multiple charges, including causing another individual to ingest a controlled substance. During the trial, the girls’ families expressed their fear and trauma, emphasizing that Meyden’s actions had deeply affected their lives.

The girls bravely spoke in court, expressing their distrust and fear towards adults due to Meyden’s betrayal. One of them stated, “My life has become a living hell because of you and your actions.” Another girl considered Meyden as her best friend’s dad, but now felt that he had abused her trust. The third girl expressed her disgust and hatred towards Meyden for what he had done.

The mothers of the girls also voiced their anger and disappointment. One mother accused Meyden of playing with her child’s life and overdosing her. Another parent questioned the decency of a parent who would drug their own child and her friends. They were appalled by Meyden’s actions and the violation he subjected the girls to.

Meyden, overwhelmed with remorse, tearfully admitted his guilt in court, accepting responsibility for his actions. He acknowledged the destruction he caused in his own life and the pain suffered by his family. The judge recognized his remorse but reminded him that he had the opportunity to rebuild his life and set a positive example for his children.

As the court handed down the sentence, Meyden was sentenced to two years in prison. However, there is a possibility for him to have a reduced sentence if he maintains good conduct during his time behind bars. This heartbreaking story serves as a reminder to remain vigilant and trust our instincts when it comes to the safety of our children.
