NFL reporter Doug Kyed has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his two-year-old daughter, Hallie, to leukemia. After a nine-month battle, Hallie passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 2021. Doug and his wife, Jen, were by their daughter’s side, holding her hands until the end.

The couple’s world was shattered in April 2023 when Hallie was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite undergoing a bone marrow transplant, Hallie unfortunately relapsed, and her condition worsened. Throughout her battle, Hallie showed tremendous resilience and strength, overcoming every obstacle thrown her way.

In an Instagram post, Doug expressed his grief, stating, “We’re completely lost and heartbroken without Hallie. Our lives will never be the same.” He also shared their hope for remission and the special moments they shared with Hallie in the hospital.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) begins in the bone marrow and quickly spreads to the blood and other parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, liver, spleen, and central nervous system. The Kyed family fought alongside Hallie, spending countless nights at Boston’s Children Hospital.

Jen Kyed spoke about the indescribable pain of losing her daughter, saying, “There is a giant hole in my heart, and the pain is excruciating.” The family will forever cherish the memories of their brave little Hallie Bear.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Kyed family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Hallie.
