Ohio Senator J.D. Vance is urging Democrats to use the 25th Amendment to address concerns about President Joe Biden’s ability to serve out his term. Vance’s comments were made during an interview with former President Donald Trump on Fox News.

Vance, who has been named as a potential running mate for Trump, expressed skepticism about Biden’s health reports, which have consistently portrayed him as fit for office. He pointed to incidents like when Biden struggled to ascend the steps of Air Force One as evidence of his declining physical condition.

The conversation then shifted to the possibility of Biden stepping down from the 2024 presidential election, and both Trump and Vance agreed that there might be a covert attempt to unseat Biden. Vance argued that if Biden is truly unable to fulfill his duties, the 25th Amendment should be invoked.

Vance’s call for the 25th Amendment comes after Biden’s surprising announcement that he would not seek reelection. While Biden did not explicitly cite health concerns as the reason for his withdrawal, many speculate that his age and perceived fitness played a role.

In addition to Vance, South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace has also called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked. She expressed concerns about Biden’s cognitive ability to serve out his term and plans to introduce a resolution calling on Vice President Kamala Harris to assume the duties of acting President.

With Biden out of the race, attention now turns to potential Democratic nominees like California Governor Gavin Newsom, former First Lady Michelle Obama, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.

The issue of Biden’s ability to serve has stirred debates within the Democrat party. Vance and Mace’s calls for the 25th Amendment highlight the growing concerns about Biden’s fitness to lead the country.
