Nicola Peltz Beckham, actress and wife of Brooklyn Beckham, is taking legal action against a dog groomer, alleging ‘intentional and malicious abuse’ that led to the death of her pet chihuahua, Nala.

In an emotional Instagram post on June 16th, Nicola announced the heartbreaking news of Nala’s sudden passing. She expressed her devastation, saying that Nala was perfectly healthy when she dropped her off at the groomer’s, but she came out hyperventilating and struggling to breathe. Despite rushing her to the vet, Nala could not be saved.

Nicola shared her story in the hope of preventing similar tragedies from happening to other dogs. She emphasized the importance of being cautious about where we send our beloved pets, as we never know what may be happening behind closed doors. Losing Nala has left a significant void in Nicola’s life, and she longs to hold her in her arms again.

Recently, it was revealed that Nicola has filed a lawsuit against the New York mobile dog grooming service, Houndspa LLC, as well as the owner, Deborah Gittleman, and groomer, Jony Ceballos. The lawsuit alleges that Ceballos not only neglected to properly care for Nala but also mistreated and intentionally abused her, showing complete disregard for her safety and well-being.

It is stated in the lawsuit that Nala entered the groomer’s as a happy and healthy dog, but when she returned after 20 to 25 minutes, she was injured and in severe distress. She was struggling for breath, with her chest pulsating and her tongue turning blue. Nicola rushed Nala to the vet, where it was discovered that she had fluid in her lungs and had suffered neurological damage. Despite receiving oxygen, Nala tragically passed away just two hours after being in the groomer’s van.

Furthermore, Nicola accuses groomer Ceballos of previous mistreatment, and she was shocked to discover that he was still employed by Houndspa LLC, despite complaints about his treatment of animals during his mobile grooming service. When confronted about Nala’s treatment, Ceballos gave inconsistent explanations of what had occurred.

The lawsuit also criticizes Houndspa LLC for not taking proper action to prevent such incidents. By keeping Ceballos employed and neglecting to implement video monitoring cameras in the grooming van, Gittleman, the owner, put every dog at risk of harm.

In response to this tragic incident, Nicola took to Instagram once again, expressing her shock, pain, and determination for change. She posted a photo of herself and Brooklyn with Nala’s coffin, accompanied by a heartfelt statement. Nicola called for stricter laws and better protections for our furry family members, pledging to use her voice to advocate for innocent pets and their loving owners.

This heartbreaking story serves as a reminder to us all to choose the groomers and caregivers for our pets with great care and consideration. Let’s work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our beloved animals and prevent any more families from experiencing the same heartbreak.
