A Shocking Incident Involving a Teacher and a Student

In a shocking incident, a young teacher has been charged with allegedly raping a 16-year-old high school student. Adding to the twist, the student’s father is also facing charges. This incident has left the community in disbelief and raised concerns about the safety of students.

The teacher in question, Hailey Nichelle Clifton-Carmack, is a 26-year-old mother of two from Waynesville, near St. Louis, Missouri. She is facing multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, statutory rape, sexual contact with a student, and child molestation.

According to official reports, the inappropriate contact between the teacher and the student occurred during school hours at Laquey High School. Disturbingly, some students even acted as “lookouts.” The matter came to light when the school’s resource officer alerted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

Strong Evidence and Troubling Revelations

Further investigation revealed strong evidence of the inappropriate relationship. A fellow student provided images of scratch marks on the victim’s back, allegedly caused by Clifton-Carmack. During an incident in the student’s driveway, she had reportedly left these marks. It was also revealed that the victim had bragged about being the reason for Clifton-Carmack’s recent divorce.

Detectives approached Clifton-Carmack at Laquey High School and seized her phone. Text messages found on the phone provided evidence supporting the allegations of her involvement with the 16-year-old student. The student who brought the relationship to light also noted Clifton-Carmack’s overly friendly behavior with students and her inappropriate choice of clothing, leading to frequent warnings from school administrators.

A Shocking Twist: The Father’s Response

In a surprising turn of events, Mark Creighton, the father of the student involved in the incident, is also facing charges. He is being charged with allowing his son to have sexual contact with Clifton-Carmack. This revelation has made the situation even more serious.

Witnesses informed Creighton of the sexual relationship between his son and Clifton-Carmack, to which Creighton disturbingly responded, “They are going to do it behind my back, so I may as well let it happen.” This response gave the impression that he was willing to protect his son and even lie for him. As a result, Creighton was taken into custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He has been ordered to have no contact with Clifton-Carmack.

School District Reacts and Ensures Safety

The Laquey R-5 School District Superintendent, Kent Stoumbaugh, expressed his shock and disappointment after learning about the charges. He emphasized that while charges do not imply guilt, such alleged behavior is unacceptable and does not align with the district’s expectations of its staff.

“We have been made aware of criminal charges being filed against an employee for alleged misconduct,” Stoumbaugh said. “We understand that charges are not the same as a conviction, and the employee is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, we must stress that the alleged misconduct is inexcusable and falls far short of the professional standards we expect from our staff.”

This distressing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of creating a safe and secure learning environment for students. The community and school authorities must come together to ensure that incidents like these are thoroughly investigated, and necessary measures are taken to prevent such misconduct in the future.
