Have you ever heard the expression, “you’re only as old as you feel”? It may sound cliché, but there’s a lot of truth to it. Just ask Shirley Clements, a 63-year-old dance teacher at a local high school. She is living proof that age is just a number, as her incredible dance moves will leave you in awe.

Shirley was planning to retire in 2015 after many years of teaching. But she loved her job so much that she couldn’t bear to leave it behind. Instead, she made the bold decision to join her students in an annual hip-hop routine competition that she had started 19 years ago.

In a video capturing their performance to the hit song “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars, Shirley steals the show. As the younger dancers begin their routine, Shirley surprises everyone by joining them on the dance floor. And boy, does she show them how it’s done!

At 60 years old, Shirley effortlessly performs every move with the grace and precision of a 20-year-old. Her enthusiasm and talent are contagious, and the students can’t help but be inspired by her skill.

After about a minute, the girls step back, allowing the boys to take center stage with Shirley’s guidance. The energy in the room is electric as they continue to dance. And just when you think it can’t get any better, Shirley wows everyone by effortlessly performing a handstand.

Most people retire with a watch and a party, but not Shirley. She chose to leave her mark in an epic way, and we can all witness the magic thanks to this incredible video:
