Adriana Reyes, also known as Martinez, has come forward in a public plea for forgiveness on behalf of herself and her son, Salvador Ramos, following the tragic mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. The first victim of this unthinkable act was Celia Martinez Gonzalez, Ramos’ grandmother, who he shot in the face during an argument about his failure to graduate from high school.

After the shocking incident, Ramos stole his grandmother’s car and drove to the school in Uvalde. He crashed the car and quickly entered a classroom, where he proceeded to take the lives of 19 children and two teachers.

Reyes, his mother, has now spoken out, stating that her son “had his reasons for doing what he did, and please don’t judge him.” It has been suggested that Ramos had a strained relationship with his mother, which led to him living with his grandmother. Reyes expressed, “I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me. Forgive me, forgive my son. I know he had his reasons.”

When questioned by CNN about why her son targeted the elementary school, Reyes responded, “It was to get closer to those children. Instead of paying attention to the other bad things, I have no words. I don’t know.” Reyes, speaking in Spanish, expressed her inability to comprehend her son’s actions.

In another interview with DailyMail, Reyes dismissed claims that she was a drug addict and that her son had turned away from her to live with his grandmother. She stated, “My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m shocked by what he did. I pray for those families. I’m praying for all of those innocent children; yes, I am. They had no part in this.”

Furthermore, Reyes refuted reports of a toxic relationship with her son that may have influenced his demeanor, saying, “I had a good relationship with him. He kept to himself, he didn’t have many friends.”

Reyes shared that the last time she spoke with Ramos was on his birthday, just a few days before the tragedy occurred. She had a card and a Snoopy stuffed animal to give to him. She also revealed that despite the bullet wound to her forehead, Celia, 66, survived the attack. Reyes stated that she and her sister would take care of their mother when she returns home to Uvalde.

On the other hand, it has come to light that Ramos had sent private messages on Facebook to a 15-year-old whom he met online. In these messages, he expressed his intention to shoot his grandmother and then carry out the harrowing act at Robb Elementary School. This further highlights the disturbing mindset that led to this tragic event.

The pain caused by this horrific act remains immeasurable. It serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and understanding in our communities, as we work together to prevent such unimaginable tragedies from occurring in the future.
