The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked both excitement and concern. While it has recently fooled people into believing false realities, AI also offers incredible possibilities.

With this in mind, we turned to the AI program Midjourney to get a glimpse of what the future holds for us, 1,000 years from now. Brace yourselves, because the results are nothing short of terrifying.

In the future, our fashion choices seem to involve wiring and whirring motors that cover our faces. AI envisions a world where our human appearances are overshadowed by technology.

This suggests a potentially disturbing relationship between us and these advanced machines. The man depicted in the AI image has sacrificed his facial skin, making way for futuristic technology. The sight is downright unsettling.

Clearly, the AI is convinced that this is how we will look 1,000 years from now. Another image shows a person with a similar web of wires across their face, but remarkably, they still have their skin.

Unfortunately, this does not make the results any less disturbing. Could this be the future standard of beauty? Flaunting the number of wires attached to our faces, with the option of keeping our skin?

If this is truly our beauty standard in the future, count me out. Even the AI-generated images without the wires are still quite horrifying. Among the pictures, we see some familiar faces, but then there are those strange, Morlock-like creatures in the middle of the bottom row.

It seems AI has taken inspiration from science fiction, suggesting that our own ideas have influenced its predictions.

Let us hope that AI is wrong about our future appearance. It’s clear that there are still many unknowns when it comes to the impact of technology on humanity. Nevertheless, we must remain hopeful and optimistic about the possibilities that AI brings. After all, the future is yet to be written.
