Vanessa and Jordan, a couple bonded by their love for music, recently had a wedding that fulfilled their alternative dreams. The two met through mutual friends just before the pandemic hit. Their connection grew stronger when they attended an Emo Nite karaoke event.

Initially, Vanessa was worried that her outgoing personality might not match Jordan’s reserved demeanor. However, as they spent more time together, they realized they had a genuine connection. They even had their first date at a Korean barbecue restaurant, a tradition they now celebrate yearly.

On one of their anniversaries, Vanessa sensed that Jordan might propose. However, when the day arrived, things didn’t go as planned. Nevertheless, a few weeks later, Jordan proposed to her, even though Vanessa was about to undergo surgery. It was a heartfelt moment that brought tears to her eyes.

When it came to planning their wedding, Vanessa and Jordan decided to focus on their shared interests. As a devoted My Chemical Romance fan, Vanessa jokingly suggested getting married in the church featured in the band’s iconic “Helena” music video. This idea became a reality as they tied the knot at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles.

The couple put a lot of effort into making the church resemble the music video, taking a DIY approach. On the day of the wedding, they were filled with a mix of nervousness and excitement. The rain made it even more reminiscent of their first date. As they set up the decorations, the venue transformed into the dark and beautiful atmosphere of the music video.

Most of their guests were unaware of the church’s significance, but Vanessa made sure to include small details that paid homage to My Chemical Romance and their personal story. One of her favorite touches was the Lovers table, which featured photographs of their families’ past generations on their wedding days.
