Imagine being able to spend more time with your grandkids while still enjoying the comfort of your own cozy home. Well, that’s exactly what Ty and Bonny did when they made the decision to move into a modest but charming tiny house. With their two kids all grown up and starting families of their own, Ty and Bonny wanted a change. They now have 7 grandkids, and they wanted to be closer to them. Their daughter lives in Kentucky, which is a ten-hour drive away, but their son lives just half a mile away.
They found their perfect solution at Liberation Tiny Homes in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Their new home, named “Journey,” is a pre-owned tiny house nestled in the Tiny Estate Village. And let me tell you, it’s much bigger than their old 3,000-square-foot house, and it’s filled with charm.
As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a farmhouse-style interior that makes you feel like you’re in the countryside. The living area features two comfortable chairs where Ty and Bonny can relax and unwind. Right next to the living area is their dining side table, complete with a bench that can be tucked under the table to save space.
What’s even more impressive is that Ty, who also happens to be a skilled woodworker, built the bench and other items in the house. Talk about personal touches! And speaking of personal touches, the small bar/office combo on the other side of the table is perfect for them. It has a printer at the bottom and drinks at the top.
Now, let’s move on to the kitchen and storage. The couple keeps their dresser and extra belongings in the storage area, cleverly integrated into the stairs that lead up to the loft above their bedroom. The kitchen itself is well-organized with plenty of storage space to fit all their needs. They even have a small air fryer and a gas burner, just in case they need them.
In the bathroom, you’ll find sliding doors that save space. It may be small, but it has everything they need—a small sink, a shower, and a toilet. And let’s not forget about the sleeping loft. Located directly above the bathroom and kitchen, it features a beautiful queen-size bed with remote-controlled lights. With windows on both sides, they can enjoy a nice cross breeze and wake up with a view.
Of course, living in a tiny home took some getting used to. Ty, who stands at six feet tall, initially struggled with the low ceilings in the loft. But now, they are both content with the coziness and tranquility of their tiny home.
In summary, Ty and Bonny’s decision to move into a tiny home at the Tiny Estate Village has allowed them to be closer to their grandkids while still enjoying a high standard of living. And with their personalized touches and charming interior, their tiny home truly feels like a home sweet home.
