Prepare yourself for the chilling second season of the smash hit Netflix true-crime series, Worst Roommate Ever. This gripping documentary delves into nightmarish cases that go far beyond your typical roommate horror stories. Brace yourself as we uncover the shocking story of a woman who discovered she was unwittingly planning her own murder.

The first episode of the new season introduces us to Rachel, a paramedic who moved in with her best friend, Janie Ridd. Rachel had been unable to work since herniating a disc in 2010, and she found herself dependent on Janie during her pregnancy. Little did she know that this friendship would take a dark turn.

As the women became closer, Rachel’s health spiraled out of control. Mysterious illnesses plagued her, leaving her in constant pain. It was later revealed that Janie had been poisoning her, taking advantage of the trust and vulnerability Rachel had placed in her. Janie even used the dark web to acquire sedatives and insulin injector pens.

Reflecting on the traumatic experience, Rachel spoke of the horrifying realization: “Not only did she try to murder me, but I felt like she was taking joy in having me plan my own murder. Or at least give her instructions on how to murder me.”

Janie was eventually convicted of two felonies, but the sentence left many bewildered. She was sentenced to one to twenty years behind bars but was released after serving only 25 months. This unsettling story raises questions about justice and the fear that Rachel will always live with.

Don’t miss out on the hair-raising stories of Worst Roommate Ever season two, now available to stream on Netflix. But beware, for this series is not for the faint of heart.
