The 9-year-old, looking all grown up with his long hair, matched his blue outfit with gray sneakers, while holding Jennifer’s hand as they crossed the street together on Wednesday, October 20. Jennifer, who is 49 years old, and Samuel were overflowing with joy during their mid-week stroll. This comes after the actress shared a heartwarming interview about parenthood and her children’s milestones back in September. During the interview, the 13 Going on 30 star opened up about homeschooling her children during the pandemic and expressed her mixed emotions as they prepared to return to the classroom. “I’m just so happy for them,” Jennifer revealed to People. “And I’m nervous and hopeful and grateful. All the things. I feel all of it.”
When it comes to getting ready for each semester, Jennifer emphasized their family routine. “We’re big on having everything packed the night before,” she shared. “Clothes are laid out. The backpack is by the door. Backpacks with computers, there’s a charging station by the door. Phones are already in their charger so that I know they aren’t going to their rooms at night. And yeah, just tons of alarms go off just in time to think about going to the bus.”
Despite their separation and divorce in October 2018, Jennifer and her ex-husband Ben, who is also 49 years old, have remained committed to co-parenting their three children, Seraphina, Violet, and Samuel, cordially. Argo actor Ben Affleck is now romantically linked to his former flame-turned-new flame, Jennifer Lopez. They reconciled in April 2021, almost two decades after their split and the end of their engagement in 2004.
But here’s where things get interesting: Jennifer has no objections when it comes to Ben introducing their kids to J. Lo, who is 52 years old and shares twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. An insider revealed to In Touch that it was Ben’s idea to be open about their co-parenting situation and let things flow naturally. While Jennifer initially preferred more control, she now sees the value in their decision. “You can’t hide who your ex is dating. Especially if you’re in the business. And Jen has nothing against J. Lo,” the insider explained.
