Justin Timberlake's lawyer says singer was 'not intoxicated,' confident DWI charge will be dropped

Justin Timberlake’s lawyer appeared in court on Long Island Friday to defend the singer against a DWI charge. The lawyer, Ed Burke, stated that Timberlake was not intoxicated at the time of his arrest and expressed confidence that the charge would be dismissed.

According to police, Timberlake was arrested last month after leaving a bar in the Hamptons. He was charged with driving under the influence after failing to stop and maintain his lane of travel. Police observed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, and poor performance on a sobriety test. Timberlake claimed to have only consumed one drink.

Despite the charges, Timberlake’s case has been adjourned until August 2. The singer was not present at the hearing, as he is currently on his world tour. Timberlake will appear virtually in court for his re-arraignment.

In response to the arrest, Timberlake addressed his fans in Chicago, describing it as a tough week. He expressed gratitude for their support and acknowledged the ups and downs he has faced.

During the court hearing, Timberlake’s lawyer pointed out several significant errors made by the prosecution in the case. He emphasized that Timberlake has great respect for law enforcement and cooperated with the officers throughout the process.

Timberlake, 43, is set to perform at concerts in Belgium after his court appearance.
