Katie Price’s mum, Amy, recently provided an update on her health following her lung transplant last year. Amy, who is 71 years old, revealed that her breathing is now affected by the weather. In 2017, Amy was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a terminal lung disease, and was given a life expectancy of three to five years.
Despite the challenges she faces, Amy shared that she’s “not too bad” and experiences both ups and downs in her daily life. The weather’s impact on her breathing prompted her to wear a face mask when she goes out, enabling her to breathe more easily. Amy expressed the slow nature of her recovery and the setbacks she has encountered along the way. Nevertheless, she remains positive as she adapts to life after her transplant.
Amy understands the importance of exercise in her recuperation. While she is unable to work out outside due to her condition, she has embraced cycling in her gym and participating in spin classes. Although her progress may be slow, she recognizes the need to exercise to keep her transplanted lung functioning. Amy’s determination is admirable, and she knows that if she doesn’t stay active, she won’t make progress.
This health journey has not been easy for Amy. She had a single lung transplant, and although the process has been challenging, she remains committed to moving forward. Amy’s openness about her health struggles led her to write her autobiography, “The Last Word,” which was released earlier this year. In this book, she candidly discusses various aspects of her life, such as Katie’s admission to rehab and her own experiences with multiple surgeries.
Amy has further shared her honest opinions on Katie’s past relationships, indicating that they all seem similar to her. She no longer discusses men with Katie because she finds the topic “boring.” From Amy’s perspective, Katie has made poor choices when it comes to romantic partners, and she encourages her daughter to consider finding a “proper man” instead of being attracted to young, good-looking men. Amy believes that, in some ways, Katie may be better off being single and simply enjoying occasional outings with companions.
Katie Price’s life has been eventful, with eight engagements and three marriages. As a mother, she takes pride in her five children. Her eldest son, Harvey, is 21 years old, while Princess is 15 and Junior is 17. Additionally, Katie has two younger children, Jett, aged 10, and Bunny, aged nine.
