We all tell little lies from time to time, but it’s usually for something trivial and we come clean soon after. However, Miley Cyrus recently admitted to a big lie that she kept hidden from her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, for nearly a decade.

When Miley and Liam first met in 2010 while filming “The Last Song,” Miley was just a teenager. The pair eventually got married in 2018 but split less than a year later to focus on themselves and their careers. However, even before their wedding, Miley had not been completely honest with Liam about her virginity.

In a recent interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with Alex Cooper, Miley revealed that she was attracted to girls before she felt any attraction to guys. She explained, “I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me.” She confessed that her first sexual experiences were with girls, but she didn’t have sex with a guy until she was 16 years old.

Surprisingly, Liam was the first guy she slept with, but she never admitted it at the time. Miley confessed that she made up a story about losing her virginity to someone else because she was afraid Liam would think less of her. She said, “I couldn’t think of anyone, so I just made somebody up that I knew, but we’d never actually had sex before.” Astonishingly, Miley held on to this lie for almost ten years.

The truth finally came out when one of Liam’s friends married the person Miley had claimed to lose her virginity to. Liam confronted her about it, and at the age of 24, Miley finally admitted the truth. It was a difficult confession for her to make, but she realized it was time to come clean.

Miley’s honesty about her past experiences highlights the importance of open communication in relationships. It’s natural to have concerns and insecurities, but lying is never the solution. Trust and understanding are the foundations of a healthy and strong partnership.

So, let Miley’s story serve as a reminder that honesty is the best policy, even if it means admitting uncomfortable truths. After all, keeping secrets can only lead to misunderstandings and complications down the road.
