Parents often have to make difficult decisions for their children, but sometimes those choices are met with criticism and judgment from others. This was the case for Brooke, a mother who faced backlash after deciding to remove her baby boy’s birthmark with a laser treatment.

Mom Is Slammed Online After Removing Baby's Birthmark With A Laser

Brooke frequently shares videos on TikTok, where she candidly discusses her experiences as a mother. When her son, Kingsley, was born, he had a large port wine stain birthmark that covered half of his face. Concerned about his wellbeing and future, Brooke consulted with doctors who presented her with treatment options.

Despite making a decision she believed was in her son’s best interest, Brooke faced immense criticism and was labeled as a child abuser by some. People argued that Kingsley should have the choice to decide for himself whether he wanted the birthmark removed when he turned 18. Others even went as far as calling the laser treatment a form of torture, offering alternative natural remedies instead.

Fed up with the negativity, Brooke decided to speak up and defend her decision. In a series of videos, she explained her reasoning behind opting for the laser treatment. One important factor she highlighted was that port wine stain birthmarks do not fade over time, and can even worsen, causing potential health concerns.

“The younger they are, the better it is to start the laser treatment because it’s more effective on fresh skin and less stubborn. As they grow older, it becomes more challenging and may require more sessions in the future,” Brooke explained.

Above all, Brooke emphasized that her love for her son was unchanged, regardless of whether he had a birthmark or not. She made the decision based on his well-being, not for cosmetic reasons.
