We all know how frustrating those arcade claw machines can be. But for one mum, her failed attempts to win a cuddly toy for her daughter turned into a heartwarming moment thanks to a young boy’s kindness.

Sophie Crehan, 24, took her two children to the Lymewood Farm restaurant in Haydock. Determined to win a pink and purple teddy for her daughter Florence, Sophie tried her luck at the claw machine next to the children’s play area. After three unsuccessful attempts, she gave up and offered the young boy standing next to her a chance.

Little did Sophie know, the boy had something special planned. Shortly after, he approached Sophie and proudly said, “I’ve just won it for your little girl.” Overwhelmed with gratitude, Sophie was nearly brought to tears by his thoughtful gesture.

The kind-hearted boy, around 10 years old, presented Florence with the toy she had been longing for. Delighted, Florence clutched the toy close to her heart.

Unable to contain her appreciation, Sophie sought out the boy’s family. She approached them and expressed how “lovely” their son had been. To further show her gratitude, Sophie gave the boy £2 from her purse as a token of thanks.

The moment has brought immense joy to Florence, who now insists on taking the toy to bed with her every night for cuddles.

Sophie shared the heartwarming incident on a local St. Helen’s Facebook group, where people couldn’t help but admire the selfless act of the young boy. Comments poured in, praising his kindness and calling him a son to be proud of.
