Nostradamus, the renowned prophet whose predictions have astounded the world for centuries, is once again making waves. His book, written over 450 years ago, has become the subject of intense interest and skyrocketing sales. Followers of Nostradamus believe he foresaw the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II. According to one interpretation of his writings, he predicted that the Queen would die in 2022, at the age of 96. This is just one example of Nostradamus accurately predicting major world events, as he famously foresaw Hitler’s rise to power.
Leading up to the Queen’s demise, only five copies of Nostradamus’s book were sold in the week ending September 17, 2022. However, in the aftermath of her passing, book sales soared to a staggering 8,000 copies as people eagerly delved into the prophetic verses written centuries ago. The 2006 publication interprets a quatrain from Nostradamus, stating: “Queen Elizabeth II will die, circa twenty-two, at the age of around ninety-six.”
Social media played a pivotal role in the dissemination of this prediction, further fueling the surge in book sales. Before the Queen’s death, there were claims that Nostradamus had forecasted Putin’s war in Ukraine:
“‘Blue-head shall white-head harm in such degree, As France’s good to both shall e’er amount.”
However, a Nostradamus expert named Boby Shailer believes that this passage does not refer to the war initiated by Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Nevertheless, he does anticipate a looming world war that will devastate a large portion of the planet in the “next few years.”
Les Prophéties, Nostradamus’s famous book, contains 942 quatrain prophesies. Published in ancient times, these verses provide insights into various future events in Europe and worldwide. Nostradamus often earned the moniker of the “Prophet of Doom” due to his predictions frequently revolving around catastrophic events such as war and death. While it remains impossible to confirm the accuracy of his cryptic writings, countless individuals still find amusement and intrigue in purchasing and reading his book.
One of Nostradamus’s most notable predictions relates to climate change. In 1555, he prophesied that the world’s climates would warm, causing the ocean waters to “half cook” all the fish:
“Because of the solar heat on the sea/ Of Euboea the fishes half cooked/ the inhabitants will come to cut them/ When the biscuit will fail Rhodes and Genoa.”
