Sergeant Nix, a dedicated law enforcement officer with 22 years of service to the Greensboro Police Department, couldn’t ignore the unlawful activities of the three suspects. Despite being off-duty at the time, he bravely decided to intervene. Sadly, the situation quickly escalated, and one of the suspects, 18-year-old Jamere Justice Foster, turned to violence. In the course of trying to stop the robbery, Sergeant Nix was fatally shot.
