TV star and mother-of-seven Paris Fury has always been open about the challenges of parenting in the public eye. With her husband, boxing champion Tyson Fury, she has provided a rare glimpse into their unconventional and thriving family life. However, this level of transparency has also made her a target for criticism, especially when it comes to her parenting choices.

Paris Fury defended decision to allow her daughter to leave school aged 11

One decision that faced significant backlash was Paris allowing her daughter, Venezuela, to leave school at the age of 11. Venezuela, who is now 14, finished primary school and then departed from the traditional education system. Paris, on their Netflix show At Home With The Furys, admitted that it was a difficult decision but one aligned with their Traveller heritage.

Initially unsure, Tyson eventually agreed that it was the best choice for their family. Paris addressed the controversy in an interview with The Sun, where she explained, “We finish school at primary age, which is the traditional Traveller way. We’ve just brought the tradition into the 21st century. Venezuela wanted to leave school, and all her [Traveller] friends were leaving. Her tutor will keep her up to date with tests, and she will have piano lessons.”

The Furys’ nomadic lifestyle also played a role in the decision. Paris mentioned, “We move so much. It wouldn’t work if they were in school full-time and then had to travel to America.” Despite the criticism, Paris and Tyson stand by their choice to prioritize their daughter’s education in a way that suits their unique circumstances.

Paris shared a heartwarming anecdote about Tyson being the “cool” parent amidst the controversy. During Venezuela’s school leaving party, Paris initially opposed her wearing a pair of high heels. But Tyson surprised her by giving his permission, showing a side of him that Paris hadn’t expected. She remarked, “He wants to be the cool parent.”

Paris and Tyson are also proud parents to Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two, as well as their youngest, Prince Rico Paris, who is 10 months old. The couple met as teenagers and tied the knot in 2008.
