Bindi and Robert Irwin, the children of the late Steve Irwin, are passionate about protecting Australia’s biodiversity, just like their father. But their connection goes beyond their shared commitment. Robert recently shared a striking similarity with his dad in an Instagram post that he probably could have done without.

Young Robert uploaded a video showing his father being bitten by a python snake many years ago. And in an unexpected twist, Robert also found himself on the receiving end of multiple bites from the same snake while handling it. The resemblance is uncanny!

“Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart,” Robert wrote in the caption. “I found this python on the side of the road, but sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan.”

Both Robert and his father bravely accepted the bites, demonstrating their love and respect for animals. Robert handled the situation with the same composure as his dad, attending to his wounds after the encounter. “I got a little too close, so he gave me a bite. They’ve got extremely sharp teeth like little needles,” he explained.

The Irwin family is wholeheartedly dedicated to continuing Steve’s legacy of wildlife conservation. Terri Irwin, Steve’s wife, along with Robert and Bindi, are making significant contributions to this noble cause at the Australia Zoo.

Steve Irwin tragically passed away in 2006 at the age of 44 while filming at the Great Barrier Reef. At the time of his father’s death, Robert was just 2 years old. Despite this heartbreaking loss, Robert carries his father’s memory with him.

Last year, on the anniversary of his father’s death and Father’s Day in Australia, Robert shared a heartfelt post on social media: “It’s Father’s Day today in Australia, and I am sending my love to those who are missing their dad today. I cherish all the good times with my dad and feel grateful to be able to keep his memory and legacy alive.”

Robert Irwin has grown into a remarkable young man, much like his late father. Steve would undoubtedly be proud of the work he is doing to honor his memory. Let’s spread a smile to other fans of Steve Irwin and his family by sharing this inspiring story.
