Reflecting on his health journey during an interview with “The Doctors” three years ago, Hamilton candidly shared his struggles. It all began in 1997 when he received a diagnosis of testicular cancer. But that was only the beginning. Seven years later, he discovered that he had a pituitary brain tumor – a condition he had been living with without even knowing it.

As a child, Hamilton spent much of his formative years in hospitals, grappling with the effects of the brain tumor. Despite enduring radiation treatments and undergoing nine surgeries, the tumor resurfaced in 2016, presenting him with yet another formidable challenge.

This time, however, Hamilton opted for a different approach. Instead of pursuing aggressive medical interventions, he made a conscious choice to prioritize his quality of life. He wanted to make the most of every day and encouraged others to do the same. Although the tumor was benign, it still had its challenges. Nevertheless, Hamilton remained steadfast in his positivity.

In a heartfelt interview with PEOPLE in 2024, Hamilton expressed contentment with his decision to forgo further treatment. To his astonishment, when he went for a scan three months later, the tumor had not only not grown – it had actually shrunk by an impressive 45%. Hamilton attributed this unexpected turn of events to a higher power, describing it as nothing short of miraculous.

Despite a setback when the tumor exhibited growth just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Hamilton remained resolute in closely monitoring the situation. He was at peace with his decision not to pursue medical intervention unless symptoms became evident.

Looking ahead, Hamilton remains optimistic. He acknowledges the availability of targeted radiation therapy as a potential treatment option if the need arises. However, his main focus is on embracing each day with gratitude and resilience, living in the present moment.

Hamilton’s remarkable journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and maintaining a positive outlook in the face of adversity. His unwavering spirit continues to inspire countless individuals worldwide, reinforcing the idea that amidst life’s greatest challenges, hope and determination can prevail.
