Having a unique talent can be a wonderful asset that stays with you throughout your life. However, sometimes this talent can make you a target for bullies during your childhood.

Tiffany Mulder knows this all too well. She is a talented violinist who has been playing the instrument since her middle school days. Unfortunately, during that time, she had one person who constantly bullied her. But, as fate would have it, this bully ended up coming back to Tiffany years later, asking for her help in planning her wedding for free. Little did she know, Tiffany had a surprise in store for her.

“Hello there! Long time no see,” the former bully approached Tiffany. “I’m getting married, and I would love for you to play the violin at my ceremony in October. It would be a great gift, and you could also use the photos and videos to showcase your talent! Win-win!”

Thinking that Tiffany would be eager to expand her portfolio, the bully seemed convinced that she would accept the offer. However, Tiffany was already successful and didn’t need any assistance. In fact, she had received recognition from various online platforms, including The Knot. With confidence, Tiffany responded, “Hi there! It’s quite presumptuous of you to expect a $2,500 service as a gift. You used to bully me a lot back in middle school just because I was in the orchestra. And as for building my portfolio, you might not know that I’ve been acknowledged by The Knot and Wedding Wire for six consecutive years.”

Tiffany didn’t stop there. She wanted to make it clear to her former bully just how successful she had become. “I started building my portfolio when I was just 12 years old, and I have been working in the wedding industry for 19 years.”

The bride-to-be was taken aback by Tiffany’s reply and criticized her prices. She even tried to befriend Tiffany and requested a discount. But Tiffany saw through her former bully’s insincere gestures. She politely informed her that she already had a circle of friends and was too busy to deal with any negativity.

Still determined to have Tiffany perform at her wedding, the bride persisted and even offered her $1000. But Tiffany knew that she had an ace up her sleeve. She couldn’t resist mentioning that her old bully was getting married on Mean Girls Day. With a smirk, she turned down the $1000 offer and declined to work for mere exposure. Instead, she jokingly proposed that the guests contribute five dollars each as an entertainment fee to help cover her expenses. And just like that, Tiffany got her sweet revenge.

Sometimes, life has a funny way of coming full circle. Tiffany went from being bullied for her talent to using that very talent as a way to get back at her childhood tormentor. It just goes to show that standing up for yourself and embracing your talents can lead to unexpected and satisfying outcomes.
