Mary Lou Retton, an American gymnastics legend, needs our support as she faces a critical battle in the ICU. If you remember the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, you may still be amazed by Retton’s historic performance as she represented Team USA with incredible grace and skill.

Retton captivated the world with her exceptional vault and floor routines, earning perfect 10s and securing the gold medal, triumphing over Romania’s Ecaterina Szabo. Her achievements did not go unnoticed, as she was recognized as Sports Illustrated’s Sportswoman of the Year and even featured on the cover of the iconic Wheaties box.

However, the course of events has taken an unfortunate turn. Retton’s daughter, McKenna Kelley, recently shared on her Instagram Story that her mother is now facing a life-threatening situation in the ICU. Retton is battling an extremely rare form of pneumonia, which has left her incapable of breathing on her own. She has been in the ICU for over a week now, and the medical expenses are mounting.

In this challenging time, Kelley has established a fund and is humbly requesting assistance to cover the overwhelming hospital bills. She urges everyone to join her in prayer, hoping for her mother’s recovery, and if possible, to contribute financially in any way they can.
