Organizing a wedding and choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen can be a stressful task. However, one woman found the perfect solution. Fifth-grade teacher, Alexandra Stamps, didn’t hesitate to ask her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her special day.

Alexandra, a teacher at Science and Technology Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas, married her fiancé, Mason McDowell, in July after nearly a year of dating. Mason, who is a third-grade teacher, also wanted to involve his students in their big day.

Not only did the couple invite their students to their wedding, but they also asked them to be part of the bridal party. Alexandra shared a heartwarming video on TikTok, where she captured the moment she asked her students. The video quickly went viral, accumulating over 19 million views.

In the video, Alexandra addresses her students and says, “I’m about to ask my students to be part of my wedding.” She then proceeds to ask the girls if they would be her junior bridesmaids and the boys if they would be her junior groomsmen. The students enthusiastically say yes, and Alexandra says that about six or seven of them started crying tears of joy.

“I love them, and they’re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans,” Alexandra expressed to the Wichita Eagle. She and her husband wanted to include their students in the festivities as a way to celebrate their hard work throughout the year and their resilience during the pandemic.

Alexandra made sure to check with the students’ parents to ensure their participation was okay. As a gesture of appreciation, she gifted the girls faux pearl necklaces and the boys colorful sunglasses. And when she proposed to the students, they were surprised with rainbow-striped lollipops.

This heartwarming gesture not only honored the students but also showcased the deep bond between the teachers and their pupils. Spending over forty hours a week with them, Alexandra and Mason wanted to share this special moment of their lives with their students who had thrived and grown as individuals during the school year.

Let’s join in praising the generosity of this teaching couple and wish them a lifetime of happiness by sharing this heartwarming story.
