Aubrey Headdon, a student at Rochelle Township High School, had a vision for her prom dress- she wanted it to be special. Inspired by the 25 fallen Marines from her Illinois community who died between 2010 and 2011, Aubrey designed a beautiful and patriotic dress to pay tribute to their memory. The dress features a blue halter neck design with red and white ribbons flowing throughout, resembling the American flag. It was a unique and heartfelt choice that left everyone in tears when she wore it on her big night.

Aubrey’s dress serves as a tribute not only to the fallen Marines but also to the American flag. The blue base color, combined with the red and white ribbons, creates a stunning visual representation of patriotism. The dress embraces the essence of what it means to be American and honors those who have sacrificed their lives for our country.

This unique dress design has captured the attention and admiration of many. It is more than just a dress; it is a symbol of gratitude and remembrance. Aubrey’s selfless act serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by so many in our country. Her prom night became a beautiful tribute to fallen soldiers, touching the hearts of all who witnessed it.

When asked about her dress, Aubrey shared her motivation behind the design. She wanted to carry the memories of the brave Marines who fell in Afghanistan on her senior prom night. Their sacrifices had ensured the freedom and way of life that we all enjoy today. This dress is a way for her to keep their memories alive and honor their noble service.

Aubrey drew inspiration from a heart-wrenching story she heard from the mother of one of the fallen Marines, Alec Catherwood. After learning about Alec’s sacrifice and the loss of his best friend, Aubrey was moved to take action. She wanted to do something to remember these brave individuals and pay tribute to their lives.

In addition to the dress, Aubrey created a poster to further honor the fallen Marines and educate others about their lives. She believes that their lives and memories should never fade away but should continue to inspire and remind us of their sacrifice.

Aubrey’s passion for fashion design is evident in her plans for the future. She intends to pursue a career in fashion and dreams of starting her own line of clothing. She hopes to design more special occasion dresses like her prom dress tribute, creating meaningful pieces that touch the hearts of others.
