On June 9, he checked into a hotel with no luggage, leaving the receptionist puzzled by his lack of personal belongings. The stage was set for a horrific incident, as Loibl meticulously planned his encounter with Grimmie.
A Tragic Ending
On the day of the concert, after Grimmie had finished performing and was signing autographs for her adoring fans, Loibl seized his opportunity. As Grimmie went to embrace him for a hug, he shamelessly pulled out his gun and mercilessly fired three rounds into her head and chest.
Grimmie’s brave brother bravely intervened, wrestling Loibl to the ground. In the chaos that ensued, Loibl managed to break free and turned the gun on himself, ending his own life.
