'Road House' Remake Cast Posters Arrive Featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Post Malone

New character posters for the upcoming Road House remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal have just been released, and there’s a surprise addition to the cast – Post Malone! Following his moving performance of “America the Beautiful” at the pre-Super Bowl event, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Post Malone will be portraying a character named Carter in the film.

The posters, unveiled on X (formerly Twitter), showcase not only Jake Gyllenhaal but also Conor McGregor, Daniela Melchior, Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen, Lukas Gage, and Darren Barnet. Interestingly, Post Malone will be credited as Austin Post for his role in Jake Gyllenhaal’s Road House remake.

In the new Road House remake, Jake Gyllenhaal steps into the shoes of Dalton, a role originally played by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 cult classic. Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter, is determined to leave his troubled past and violent tendencies behind.

Struggling to make ends meet, Dalton’s reputation catches the attention of Frankie, the owner of a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. Desperate to protect her beloved bar from a ruthless gang working for crime boss Brandt, Frankie hires Dalton as the bouncer. Despite being outnumbered, Dalton’s exceptional skills prove unbeatable against Brandt’s crew. However, things take a dangerous turn with the arrival of Knox, a merciless gun-for-hire.

The Road House reboot boasts an impressive lineup of action talent. Directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow), the film features a screenplay by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith).

The original Road House, released in 1989, received mixed reviews initially but has since become a guilty pleasure for many. It’s known for its 80s action cheesiness, intense fight scenes, and the irresistible charisma of Patrick Swayze. While it may be tough to imagine anyone matching Swayze’s swagger and Sam Elliot’s effortless cool, Jake Gyllenhaal and his talented co-stars are giving it their best shot.

Yesterday, Jake Gyllenhaal took to Instagram to share a selfie with Post Malone from the set of the Road House remake. Alongside the photo, Prime Video announced Malone’s involvement in the film. In the picture, Malone rocks a fierce look with fake blood on his face, hinting at the action-packed fight scenes in the epic remake.

In another video shared as part of the Instagram carousel, Gyllenhaal can be seen gracefully dodging under the flailing arms of Malone and actor Kenny Lorenzetti during a wrestling scene. Gyllenhaal humorously quips, “Hey guys, sorry, what’s going on? Just passing through.”

Gyllenhaal expressed his admiration for Malone in the Instagram post, saying, “A man of many talents. To say it was a pleasure working together is an understatement. Welcome to the #roadhouse @postmalone!”

Road House will premiere on Prime Video on March 21.
