Working from home can be a challenging task, especially when you have little ones to take care of. Savannah Guthrie, the beloved co-host of the Today Show, has been open about the struggles of balancing work and motherhood from her own home. But recently, she had a small mishap that she couldn’t quite fix before going on camera.

In a candid social media post, Guthrie shared that she experienced an itchy wardrobe malfunction during a recent broadcast. So, what was the issue? Well, she accidentally wore her red and black patterned blouse backward!

Taking it all in good stride, Guthrie even made a joke about the fashion faux pas on Instagram. She posted a picture of the tag scratching her chin and shared her funny reaction. It seems that getting up before the crack of dawn for her high-profile job played a part in missing this wardrobe mishap.

So how did she not notice? Well, it’s no surprise considering her early morning wakeup call. Trying to juggle it all, it’s easy to overlook small details, even as prominent as a backward shirt.

In her Instagram post, Guthrie wrote: “Put my dress on my backward and didn’t notice till too late to change, so now I’m like (choking sounds).”

It turns out that Guthrie is not the only media personality to face wardrobe challenges during the pandemic. BBC reporter Liz Beacon, for example, had to improvise when her dress split moments before going on air. Using electrical tape and heavy-duty clips, she managed to keep it closed.

Nine journalist Fiona Willan also had her fair share of fashion mishaps. Last year in September, she forgot to put one of her arms through her elegant gown at the Midwinter Ball. She realized the mistake when she saw a photo of herself striking a pose with a piece of fabric flailing around.

Guthrie has had a lot on her plate in recent months. However, with the increasing spread of the coronavirus, she may not be able to return to the studio as planned. It seems that lockdown conditions may become the new normal, as cases and deaths continue to rise across the United States.

What are your thoughts on the Today Show co-host’s wardrobe malfunction? Would you have noticed if she hadn’t said anything?
