A devastating incident occurred at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool that took the life of a young social media personality. Twenty-one-year-old Chloe Haynes tragically lost her life when a large wardrobe fell on her in the middle of the night. Confused and disoriented, Haynes mistook the wardrobe door for the entrance to the bathroom, unknowingly causing the heavy piece of furniture to crush her.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation, but sadly, Haynes was found lifeless in her hotel room at 6:27 am. Her mother, Nicola Williams, explained that after a night out, Haynes woke up confused and mistakenly opened the wardrobe door, believing it to be the way to the bathroom. Unaware of the danger, the heavy wardrobe toppled onto her, resulting in a fatal injury.

Williams, filled with grief, shared, “Chloe left Pwllheli around 7:40 pm and went to the Adelphi hotel for what seemed to be an engagement party. By midnight, she had consumed some shots and was a bit intoxicated. Her friend took her back to the hotel to sleep it off, and he went back out. It appears that Chloe got up from bed, disoriented and not knowing her surroundings. She opened the wardrobe door, mistaking it for the bathroom or the exit door. The wardrobe was old and heavy, and it tragically fell on her, crushing her windpipe.”

According to Williams, Haynes’s friend returned to the hotel room after a night out to discover the horrifying scene of her crushed beneath the massive wardrobe. Two men from neighboring rooms rushed to help upon hearing their cries for assistance. Despite their efforts to lift the wardrobe off of her, it was too late for the young socialite. Emergency services were called, but they were unable to revive her.

Haynes was known for her love of animals, particularly her adored dog named Archie. Williams fondly recalled, “She loved animals. She had a little dog called Archie she was obsessed with. There are so many photos of them together. My little nickname for her was birdy. She was so petite and little, and when she ate, she was like a little bird. She was quiet. She was somebody who didn’t speak unless it needed saying. But in the last twelve months, she was coming out of her shell, she was gaining her confidence, and she had a wide circle of friends. She was kind and caring, and she seemed to connect with gay men, and that was how she met the friend she went to Liverpool with.”

Our hearts and prayers go out to Chloe Haynes and her grieving family during this truly difficult time.
