A Reddit user, u/expensive_concept152, recently opened up about her heartbreaking experience on the r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit. This brave woman shared her story of how her ex-husband cheated on her with her younger sister and then tried to reconnect with her years later.
The original poster, who we will refer to as OP, met her ex-husband, Dan, 15 years ago on her 18th birthday. She was instantly drawn to his charm and maturity, feeling loved and special in his presence. At the time, OP’s family was struggling with a toxic relationship, with constant fights and her father frequently disappearing for months. Sadly, her father passed away shortly after her sister, Abby, was born.
Feeling incomplete, OP found solace in Dan. He was supportive, caring, and they built a life together. However, after five years of marriage, OP discovered that Dan had been having an affair with Abby. Devastated, OP confronted her husband, questioning how he could betray her with her 19-year-old sister.
Dan callously responded that he no longer loved her because she didn’t give him the attention he wanted. He claimed that she had changed from the girl he fell in love with.
