Georgie's note

Last Friday, a heartwarming incident took place at Castello Italian restaurant in Yeovil, Somerset. A little girl named Georgie and her family visited the restaurant, where she had the most delightful time enjoying her spaghetti. Moved by her experience, Georgie decided to leave a special thank you note for the staff to express her gratitude.

As the servers cleaned up the table after the family had paid and left, they were surprised to find Georgie’s message neatly written on a napkin. In her own words, Georgie thanked the waitresses and waiters for being so lovely and for serving them delicious food. She even humorously added, “I loved my sphaggeti (I think that’s how you spell it)”, emphasizing her enjoyment of the meal. Georgie concluded her note by giving the restaurant a glowing 5-star rating and signing it with lots of love as “Georgie, the short blonde girl.”

But there was more to this adorable gesture. At the bottom of the napkin, Georgie expressed her gratitude for the “lollypop” and cleverly remarked, “This is a tip,” with an arrow pointing to the monetary tip her mother had left. This sweet act touched the staff’s hearts and meant a lot to them.

Jonny Zhejani, the general manager of Castello, discovered the note while cleaning the table and expressed his appreciation for Georgie’s gesture. He shared, “It means a lot to us because we have been working very hard to make up for the last six months while hospitality has been closed.” Jonny also mentioned how happy and excited Georgie was during her visit and her mother’s comment about her enthusiasm when they had booked the dinner.

This heartwarming incident reminds us of the joy and kindness that can be found in the simplest gestures. Georgie’s thoughtfulness at such a young age goes to show that gratitude knows no boundaries. It is a beautiful reminder that kindness and appreciation can brighten the day of others.
